Tamirirashe Zizhou

Tamirirashe Zizhou is a multimedia artist based in Harare, Zimbabwe. He is largely self-taught and has been working professionally as a graphic designer for 13 years, and as a photographer for 5 years. In the field of art, he has played a role in organising and curating various exhibitions by multiple galleries and collectives. Tamirirashe has also been repeatedly commissioned to photograph artwork on exhibit for gallery catalogues. His work, whether in traditional art, photography or graphics, mainly explores space and the relationship between people and the spaces they build and use. Tamirirashe is a street, domestic and architectural photographer, and his art and graphic work focuses on maps and settlement patterns. Sometimes, his work shifts to portraiture of other artists and vision shapers that inspire him. Tamirirashe’s aim is to document and interrogate how people can or have shaped the space around them, creatively and practically, examining how they use and extend these spaces.
